A young woman, she beats Shehyn in a sparring exhibition and is the first among the Adem at Haert to speak to Kvothe of her own free will. She is the perfect contrast to Shehyn in terms of fighting style. Where Shehyn is perfectly deliberate and minimalist, operating with a perfect economy of motion, Penthe is a dervish, whirling and spinning and fighting with a wild display of acrobatics and speed. She and Kvothe develop a sexual relationship that lasts through Kvothe's stay in the Ademre.
