A location in Tarbean. After an old farmer Seth and his son Jake give Kvothe a ride into Tarbean, the old farmer, realizing Kvothe's homeless state, offers to take him back to his farm and let him live there. He tells Kvothe to meet him by Seaward Square before sundown. Due to Kvothe's encounter with Pike, he arrives at the square after sundown, and is forced to live homeless in Tarbean for several years.

Seaward Square is also the location of The Broken Binding, a bookstore where Kvothe pawns Rhetoric and Logic to obtain enough money to travel to the University.
