I expect you to agree with me, I think that it would be better to have a Netflix original series rather than a movie or a tv serie because the movie would skip many deatils in the books and a tv series would be cancelled if it doesn't have enough ratings, what do you think?
If you like the idea we should start sending suggestions to Netflix for them to produce the series, don't you think so?
Well, as far as I know 20th century fox and New Regency are currently developing a tv series based on the Kingkiller Chronicle. It is also confirmed that NBC had secured the rights for the tv series. (I've written an article about it here). So a tv series on Netflix does not seem likely.
Pat himself said years ago (before the tv deal was made) in an interview that he thinks that a tv series would be better than movies. He said that most of the fantasy books nowadays are adapted into action movies, but "there is no single chase (at least not in a car), no single explosion, not even a sword fight in 'The Name of the Wind'." His books are more focused on characters, and only in a tv series can characters develop well and interact with each other.
Welp, I hope it goes well if they do make one. But seriously: if they don't include Chronicler, the whole "Three Days" situation, and most importantly, the GODDAMN UNIVERSITY, then i will cry. I will also cry if it sucks anyways. And please, don't use Logan Lerman as Kvothe.
If it's to be made into something I think tv series would be best to capture all of the character development (hopefully) I think Netflix would be a bad idea as not everyone owns it (I'd cry if it was only on Netflix!!) c':
I'm kind of skeptical about it becoming a TV series becuase it'll be so very different from my imagination and I'd hope it wouldn't ruin my perception of the characters from the book. Also, the book has such a warm feeling to it and I love the way I interpret and imagine the scenery and characters, I'd hope the TV series would be able to capture that! c: I'm sure it will definitely be brilliant though although different, but that's to be expected anyway!! c:
